Kosovo Scraps White House Talks with Serbia after Thaçi Indicted
On Thursday, Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, said that his Government would not attend United States (U.S.) -mediated talks with Serbia planned for the weekend at the White House after Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaçi was formally accused of war crimes, KAG correspondent reported. The Special Prosecutor’s Office dealing with Kosovo’s 1998-99 uprising against Serbian rule said on Wednesday it had indicted Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi at a Hague Court for alleged crimes including nearly 100 murders. Thaçi is accused alongside others of a range of offences, including murder, during his time as a commander in the Kosovo Liberation Army, or KLA.
